ERSHETU - instrumental version

In October 2023, the newly established ERSHETU collective, the brainchild of artistic duo Void (DMP) and Sacr, unveiled their debut album "Xibalba". The six striking compositions masterfully blend the emotional depth of film scores with the intensity of Black Metal. Enhanced by the fervent vocals and hypnotic chants of Lars Are Nedland (BORKNAGAR, SOLEFALD), "Xibalba" examines life, death, and rebirth in the Mayan civilization.

As a special treat for listeners and soundtrack enthusiasts, ERSHETU present an exclusive insight into their inaugural creation: a purely instrumental rendition of "Xibalba" which is available below:

The idea of publicly releasing an instrumental version came from conceptualist Void:

"To me it's important to show this album under a different 'light'. It works super well in my opinion. It's a different experience!"

Sacr elaborates on this idea:

"To me it is an interesting idea to be able to hear the arrangements, the details, which we don't always hear so easily when the voice takes up a lot of space. And we can often be surprised by these details and discover the album differently. It works quite well due to the fact that the songs were composed and arranged in a cinematic way with orchestral and tribal arrangements and without the melodies of the vocal lines. So the instrumental version really makes sense. Also, this version is a way to show the incredible work of Lars! In terms of melody, universe, the countless number of voices and of course interpretation. You notice that a lot if you compare both the instrumental vs the non-instrumental versions."
