Led by composer B. (AARA, MODERN RITES), a cadre of skilled Swiss and Norwegian artists created a menacing new beast last year. This entity, TAUBRĄ, made an impressive entrance with debut album "Therizo", which we explore in the thirteenth installment of our retrospective series. Over nine riveting pieces, TAUBRĄ's inaugural album marries the raw intensity and vigor of Black Metal with layers of occult mysticism and spirituality – a perfect fusion of composer B.'s distinctive melodic style, songwriting finesse and vocalist R.'s metaphorical lyricism. TAUBRĄ bring the ancient spirits that possessed the legends of '90s second-wave Black Metal into the modern era, embarking on a magical voyage filled with chaos, ecstasy, darkness and introspection:

Vocalist R. reveals the band's aspirations for the coming year and his personal top 15 albums of 2023:

"Hopefully, we will exhume our second attack on the world during this year – expect nothing but more sinister and fierce Black Metal! And if everything goes as planned, we might have a surprise up our sleeve as well...
