LIGHT OF THE MORNING STAR - Track-By-Track, Part IX

'Fangs In The Tree Of Life' is the last and the longest song on "Charnel Noir". In the harsh and raw beginning, the Black Metal influences as well as the love for the old and earnest Gothic classics are immediately discernible. To evoke a specific flavor of dread, LIGHT OF THE MORNING STAR additionally include heavy doom elements throughout the track. Intelligently weaving these different aspects together, 'Fangs In The Tree Of Life' sounds dynamic, creepy as well as chthonic. Those well versed in the underground world of Black Metal will, thus, immediately spot the influences of MORTUUS on LIGHT OF THE MORNING STAR's composition. 'Fangs In The Tree Of Life' sounds like a seductive call from the grave!

Artist O-A unveils more about the inspiration behind this track:

"The final song on "Charnel Noir", the most evolving song on an album of relatively short pieces, is 'Fangs In The Tree Of Life'. MORTUUS forms one pillar of the five point star of primary influences around LIGHT OF THE MORNING STAR, along with BABYLON WHORES, KATHARSIS, MAYHEM, and THE SISTERS OF MERCY; they, much like BABYLON WHORES (but in a different realm), have always sat as a burning flame of passionate, committed, outsider art, dedicated not just the musical form of Black Metal, but the spiritual as well, which really is its true core.

The lyrics for 'Fangs In The Tree Of Life' were written in conspiracy with J. Kvarnbrink of MORTUUS, with whom we delivered an ode to all of the darkness, misery, and fervor of the most inhuman vampirism, coloured by our own individual illuminations."
