French Black Metal pioneers and perpetual innovators BLUT AUS NORD unveil their sixteenth full-length opus, "Ethereal Horizons" - another immaculately-crafted journey into the otherworldly, and one of the most striking works in their canon.
"Ethereal Horizons" is officially out now and available in full on our YouTube and Bandcamp pages:
After spending the preceding few years immersed in the wyrd and uneasy world of Lovecraft, this guitars-forward and melodious new album feels more akin to the organic, intoxicating terrain of 2014's "Memoria Vetusta III: Saturnian Poetry" or 2019's "Hallucinogen" – a cosmic and consonant antidote to these bleak times.
Press and fans have praised the band’s latest unearthly creation:
"…a grand opus that synthesizes their previous output while remaining adventurous and fresh." (Blabbermouth)
"Triumphantly melodic in sound yet hypnotic in scope, energetic enough to be heavy yet beautiful enough to be soothing, "Ethereal Horizons" is a journey of an album through beautiful cosmic pastures, and doubtless to still greater horrors beyond." (Angry Metal Guy)
"The number of gripping moments is too great to count. This sixteenth full-length feels both familiar and fresh, and it firmly re-establishes BLUT AUS NORD as one of the most visionary and boundary-pushing forces in extreme music." (Addergebroed)
"BLUT AUS NORD have created one of the finest and most memorable expressions of their artistic vision with an album guaranteed to break many year-end lists. "Ethereal Horizons" may be their most complete and fully realized record, leaving me to wonder what they could possibly do next." (Metal Epidemic)
"Ethereal Horizons" is released on several CD/vinyl editions and digital, accompanied by a selection of new merchandise. Coinciding with this, a 2025 reissue of the band’s seminal 2003 avant–black metal masterpiece "The Work Which Transforms God" (listen here) is also now available. This edition restores the original artwork and features reflections on the album by fellow artists, an in-depth interview with Vindsval, and a booklet presented in a slipcase featuring a newly commissioned illustration by Rob Borbás (Grindesign Tattoo).
Orders for both releases are possible through our EU, US, and Bandcamp shops.
